Susie Lavaud, DDS, RDH
A native of Oaxaca, in southwestern Mexico, I graduated from Metropolitan University in Mexico City with a degree in dentistry. Following an internship, I opened my own dental practice in Oaxaca, where I continued to develop my skills for a number of years.
In the early 1990s, I took a break from my private practice to start a family and moved to the United States. In subsequent years, when my daughter was old enough, I reentered the dental field in Orlando working with Dr. Payton Hodges. I rediscovered my love of the dental profession and the people I met in the process. In 2003, I took a position closer to home as Dr. Holman’s Hygienist. I have enjoyed being a part of this team ever since.

I became a part of Dr. Holman’s team in 2005. That year, I attended Southeastern Nova University for their dental assisting program and became a Certified Dental Assistant. I have been here ever since. I truly enjoy my job! It is rewarding to see the difference we make in the patient’s lives through dental education and treatment.
Within the first couple of years assisting Dr. Holman, I was promoted to treatment/office coordinator. I look forward to assisting patients in any way possible. I still assist in a day-to-day basis as needed. I believe it has been an advantage to fully understand the dental aspect of the profession along with the front office.

In spring of 2005 I moved here from Michigan. I soon became interested in the dental field and attended a year course at Central Florida Institute where I became a Certified Dental Assistant. In the summer of 2007 I interned at Holman’s office. I graduated in the summer of 2008 and became a part of Dr. Holman’s team. He and I work very closely together so it helps that we are a lot alike. I try to stay one step ahead of him so our office is efficient and organized. I enjoy working with patients because I feel the greatest reward is seeing someone smile. |
